Signature collection
This collection is conceived and produced by our team. The idea is to offer contemporary glasses that are easy to wear. These cat-eye frames are designed to remain timeless and well balanced on the face. We produce all frames in small quantities to keep a limited selection that is regularly refreshed in our boutiques. Each model is designed for everyday comfort and to work easily with different styles.

Materials and case
Our Signature acetate cat-eye models use Italian Mazzucchelli acetate, chosen for its layered colours and the way it can be shaped and polished. The hinges are designed for daily use. Each pair comes with a Maison Mata case and a microfibre cloth. We work with small workshops in Bali and elsewhere in Indonesia for cases and packaging. Our sunglasses offer UV400 protection.

Advice and care
Our opticians can advise you on prescription lenses in store. These include UV protection, anti-reflective treatment and a hard coating to help resist small scratches.
Lifetime care for your Maison Mata cat-eye glasses is free in store: replacement screws and nose pads, acetate polishing and frame adjustments.
Rinse off dust or sand with clean, lukewarm water, then dry gently with a clean microfibre cloth. Keep your glasses in their case when you are not wearing them.

Prescription lens options
Maison Mata frames are designed to take prescription or sun lenses. These cat-eye frames can be fitted with different lens types according to your prescription and needs: single-vision, progressive, polarised, photochromic or blue-light filtering lenses. Our opticians can guide you towards lenses suited to your vision and everyday use. You can also have a free eye exam with our optometrists in Canggu, Ubud or Sanur. This eye exam allows us to establish your prescription before making your lenses.

01Is the cat-eye shape suitable for my face?
Cat-eye sunglasses rise at the outer corners, drawing attention towards the temples and cheekbones. On oval, heart-shaped and diamond-shaped faces, this can emphasise the upper line; on round faces, it adds an upward contrast. Choose a softer or more pointed corner and a fine or thicker acetate rim for the effect you prefer. Our sunglasses provide UV400 protection. Our opticians can advise you in store on prescription lens options.

02Will cat-eye glasses make my face look too large or too small?
The same shape can look different depending on its width, lens height and rim thickness. A larger frame creates more presence; a fine rim or translucent acetate gives a lighter outline. Use the product-page dimensions to compare proportions. Our opticians can help with sizing and adjustment.

03What is acetate, and why do we use it for our frames?
Cellulose acetate starts with plant cellulose, from sources such as wood and cotton. We use Italian Mazzucchelli acetate for the depth of its colours and the way it can be shaped, adjusted and polished.
Colours and patterns run through the material. Hand polishing reveals their depth and creates a smooth surface; polishing can also refresh an acetate frame’s finish over time.

04Do Maison Mata boutiques in Bali have opticians and optometrists?
Our teams help you choose frames and lenses in our Bali boutiques.
Qualified optometrists provide free eye exams in Canggu, Ubud and Sanur. Eye exams are not available at Seminyak. -
05Do you offer free frame adjustments in store?
Lifetime care for your Maison Mata cat-eye glasses is free in store: replacement screws and nose pads, acetate polishing and frame adjustments.

06Can I choose the frame colour, lens tint, engraving and size for a personalised pair?
Signature is available in the colours and sizes shown on the product page. To personalise a frame, choose a Handmade design in acetate colour, frame size and engraving at no extra cost. We help you choose the proportions and details in store or when you order. Lens options are selected separately.

Adjustments
Do your glasses slip or sit unevenly? We adjust frames free of charge, including those bought elsewhere, so they sit more comfortably on your nose and behind your ears.

Polishing
Polishing can restore the shine to an acetate frame and soften small surface marks. This service is free for the lifetime of your Maison Mata glasses. It is for the frame, not the lenses.

Repairs
Screw and nose pad replacement is free for the lifetime of your Maison Mata glasses. We also assess possible repairs to frames bought elsewhere. Other repairs and parts are quoted before any work begins.
