Designed in Bali and crafted from Italian Mazzucchelli acetate, Borneo Bliss reimagines the classic rectangular frame with an elegant tortoiseshell finish. Its straight, slightly wrapped shape makes it timeless, practical, and protective. Created for both men and women, it fits oval and square faces especially well, while adapting naturally to most face shapes with its balanced design.
The lenses can be customized to your needs: polarized to reduce glare, blue-light filters, or exclusive tints developed in our Bali workshop. Optional prescription lenses can also be crafted by our opticians. Each pair includes UV400 protection, an anti-reflective coating, and a scratch-resistant finish for long-lasting clarity.

Services & Care
Maison Mata glasses are designed to be worn every day. In our boutiques, our team can adjust your frame to ensure optimal comfort. We also offer cleaning, screw tightening, and small adjustments when necessary. Regular maintenance helps keep your glasses comfortable and well aligned. We recommend cleaning the lenses with the provided microfiber cloth and storing the glasses in their case when they are not in use.
Optical Compatibility
Maison Mata frames are designed to receive prescription or sun lenses. These rectangular frames can be fitted with different types of lenses depending on your needs: single vision, progressive, polarized, photochromic, or blue light filtering lenses. Our opticians can guide you in choosing the lenses that best suit your vision and daily use. You can also have an eye exam in our boutiques to obtain an accurate prescription before your lenses are produced.
Questions & Answers for Eyewear Lenses & Customization
What face shapes suit rectangular glasses best?
Rectangular glasses complement round and oval faces, adding definition and a sharper profile. They balance fuller cheeks and create a more elongated silhouette. For square or angular faces, choose softer edges or thinner lines to avoid hardening features.
Will rectangular glasses make my face look too large or too small?
Rectangular frames can lengthen the face visually. If too large, they may overpower finer features; if too small, they can look cramped. A good fit sits slightly wider than your cheekbones and maintains harmony between width and height.
Do you offer tailor-made or bespoke frames, and how does the custom process work?
Yes, our tailor-made experience begins with a first appointment to create a mood board together, gather inspirations, and take precise measurements.
We then work on drawings and present several design options to the client for feedback and adjustments.
Once validated, the production starts entirely by hand in our Bali workshop.
What is the difference between polarized and photochromic lenses?
Polarized lenses reduce glare, while photochromic lenses react to UV light, they darken in the sun and clear indoors.
In Bali, many people combine both for all-day protection: polarization for glare, photochromic technology for changing light.
Do you offer in-store eye exams and lens fitting with an optometrist?
Yes, every Maison Mata boutique in Bali has certified optometrists who perform eye exams and fit lenses precisely to your frame and needs.
What materials do you use for your frames, and why?
We use Italian Mazzucchelli acetate, a plant-based material chosen for its depth of color and flexibility.
Every frame also includes a stainless-steel core structure, adding strength and resilience without extra weight.
This combination gives our Bali-made frames their signature balance and comfort.
