All Maison Mata accessories are designed by our team with the same attention we give to our eyewear. Chains, cases, and other accessories are created to complement our frames and to be useful in everyday life. Whenever possible, we try to produce as many of our accessories ourselves. When this is not possible, we work with small workshops in Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia. Producing close to us allows us to follow the manufacturing process, control quality, and stay connected to local craftsmanship. Each accessory is designed to be simple, durable, and easy to use with Maison Mata glasses.
Why use a glasses chain?
A glasses chain allows you to keep your glasses close when you are not wearing them. Instead of placing them on a table or in a pocket, they remain around your neck. This helps reduce the risk of losing them, dropping them, or scratching the lenses. It is also a practical solution for people who frequently remove their glasses throughout the day.
Are glasses chains compatible with all frames?
Most glasses chains are compatible with a wide range of eyewear thanks to flexible silicone connectors that attach to the temples. They can generally be used with both prescription glasses and sunglasses. It is simply important that the temples have a standard thickness so the connectors stay secure.
Why use a glasses case?
A glasses case helps protect your glasses from scratches, dust, and pressure when they are placed in a bag or pocket. Lenses are particularly sensitive to friction and impact. Using a case helps extend the lifespan of your glasses and reduces the risk of damaging the lenses or the frame.
What is a Mata Box and what is it used for?
The Mata Box is an accessory designed to quickly protect the lenses of your glasses when you are not wearing them. It covers the lenses to reduce scratches and dust while leaving the temples free. Unlike a traditional case, it allows you to protect your glasses in just a few seconds without fully storing them. Mata Boxes come in different shapes to fit various frame styles and can easily be attached to a bag, belt, or jeans so your glasses stay protected and accessible.
Are Maison Mata accessories produced locally?
Whenever possible, we try to produce our accessories ourselves. When this is not possible, we work with small workshops in Bali or elsewhere in Indonesia. This allows us to stay close to the production process while supporting local craftsmanship.
How do you maintain a glasses chain or accessory?
Most eyewear accessories require very little maintenance. It is usually enough to clean them with a soft cloth to remove dust or marks. It is also recommended to occasionally check the connectors to make sure they remain securely attached to the temples of your glasses.
