Lenses, care and custom options

What face shapes suit hexagonal glasses best?

Six sides give hexagonal sunglasses their distinctive outline. The angles create contrast with round and oval faces, without relying on a square or rectangular shape. A fine rim makes the geometry subtle; thicker acetate brings it forward. Explore designs for women and men.

Will hexagonal glasses make my face look too large or too small?

The same shape can look different depending on its width, lens height and rim thickness. A larger frame creates more presence; a fine rim or translucent acetate gives a lighter outline. Use the product-page dimensions to compare proportions. Our opticians can help with sizing and adjustment.

Can you adjust frame size, bridge fit, and temple length for a better fit?

Yes. Adjustments are available at every Maison Mata boutique in Bali.
Our team checks the temples and how the frame rests on your nose, then adjusts it for a more comfortable fit.

Are photochromic lenses good for daily use in sunny climates, and how fast do they darken/clear?

Photochromic lenses darken outdoors and become clearer indoors, so they can be useful when you move between different light conditions.
How quickly they change, and how dark they become, depends on the lens, the temperature and the light. Our opticians can explain the options available.

Will salt, sweat, or sunscreen damage my lenses or coatings?

Use the microfiber cloth supplied with your Maison Mata glasses and our lens cleaning solution.
Rinse off sand or salt with clean water before wiping. Avoid paper tissues and clothing, which can scratch the lenses.

What is the difference between Handmade and Signature?

We make Handmade frames in our Canggu workshop: CNC cutting is followed by shaping and polishing by hand. We design Signature frames in Italian Mazzucchelli acetate and assemble them in Bali. The two collections use the same acetate maker, with different production methods.
