Mahogany mirage sunglasses have a broad, angular front with thick rims and prominent outer corners. Shown here in Marble, with brown gradient lenses. Designed for women and men. On oval and round faces, its defined lines add structure.

We make this Handmade frame from Italian Mazzucchelli acetate in our Canggu workshop in Bali, shaping and polishing it by hand. Allow around 15 days for production, plus shipping. Choose your frame size, acetate colour and engraving at no extra cost. You can also make it yours in our Virtual Atelier: try it on, adjust the size, change the acetate and send us your design.

Choose polarised lenses to soften glare, photochromic lenses that change tint with the light, a blue-light filter or special HOYA tints. Prescription lenses are selected with our opticians in store. Our sun lenses offer UV400 protection.

Made to Order & Customization
We make our Handmade frames from Italian Mazzucchelli acetate in our Canggu workshop in Bali, where we shape and polish them by hand. Allow around 15 days for production, plus shipping time. Size, acetate colour and engraving can be personalised at no extra cost.
Materials & Packaging
These Handmade frames use Italian Mazzucchelli acetate, with a fine metal core inside the temples. CR-39 describes a lens material; polarisation is a filter that reduces reflected glare. Our sunglasses sold online have UV400 protection. The product page specifies the lenses available for each model. Your frame comes with a case and a microfibre cloth, including when you choose it without lenses.
Services and Care
Lifetime care for your Maison Mata glasses is free in store: screw and nose-pad replacement, acetate polishing and frame adjustments.
Clean the lenses with the microfibre cloth and keep your glasses in their case when you are not wearing them.
Keep your glasses away from intense heat.

Is the oversized shape suitable for my face?

Oversized sunglasses give the frame more space on the face. Rounded outlines emphasise curves; angular designs draw a stronger boundary. This selection for women and men explores both, with acetate rims that make the proportions part of the look. Oversized describes the visual effect, not a guaranteed fit for every large face. Compare the listed dimensions to choose your proportions. Our sunglasses provide UV400 protection; prescription lens options are selected in store.

Will oversized glasses make my face look too large or too small?

The same shape can look different depending on its width, lens height and rim thickness. A larger frame creates more presence; a fine rim or translucent acetate gives a lighter outline. Use the product-page dimensions to compare proportions. Our opticians can help with sizing and adjustment.

Are thicker, angular frames heavier, and will they feel comfortable all day?

Thickness alone does not determine a frame’s weight or comfort.
Its dimensions, balance and the way the bridge and temples sit all matter.
Our opticians can assess the fit and adjust the parts the frame allows. A thick design is not automatically heavy, and a light frame is not automatically the best fit.

Are blue-light lenses safe for daily wear, and will they change color tint?

Blue-light filtering lenses can be worn daily, including with a prescription.
Their tint and visible reflections vary by lens and treatment; they are not always completely colour-neutral. Our opticians can show you the available options and explain what changes in appearance.

How long does it take to get prescription lenses made and fitted?

Preparation time depends on your prescription, lens choice and the laboratory. Free eye exams are available in Canggu, Ubud and Sanur, and lens edging is carried out at our Canggu workshop.

What happens if my glasses get scratched or damaged, can you repair or replace parts?

Bring the frame to us or send clear photos of the damage.
We will check whether a repair or replacement part is possible and explain any cost before proceeding. The result depends on the material, the damaged area and the condition of the frame.
