Mahogany Mirage sunglasses have a broad, angular front with thick rims and prominent outer corners. Shown here in Marble, with brown gradient lenses. Designed for women and men. On oval and round faces, the frame’s defined lines add structure.

We make this Handmade frame from Italian Mazzucchelli acetate in our Canggu workshop in Bali, shaping and polishing it by hand. Allow around 15 days for production, plus shipping. Choose your frame size, acetate colour and engraving at no extra cost. You can also make it yours in our Virtual Atelier: try it on, adjust the size, change the acetate and send us your design.

Choose polarised lenses to soften glare, photochromic lenses that change tint with the light, a blue-light filter or special HOYA tints. For prescription lenses, our opticians can advise you in store. Our sun lenses offer UV400 protection.

Each frame begins with a flat sheet of Italian Mazzucchelli acetate in our Canggu workshop. After the initial CNC cut, we refine the generous oversized shape and work the edges by hand, then polish the frame to a smooth finish.
Allow around 15 days for production, plus shipping. Choose your frame size, acetate colour and engraving at no extra cost; lens options are selected separately.
Materials & Packaging
We choose Italian Mazzucchelli acetate for its depth of colour and the way it can be shaped and polished. A fine stainless-steel core reinforces the temples. Our polarised sun lenses are made from CR-39 and provide UV400 protection while reducing reflected glare. Each product page shows the other lens options available.
Your frame comes with a case and a microfibre cloth, including when you choose it without lenses.
Services and Care
Lifetime care for your Maison Mata glasses is free in store: screw and nose-pad replacement, acetate polishing and frame adjustments.
Rinse away dust or sand with clean, lukewarm water before drying gently with a clean microfibre cloth. Keep your glasses in their case when you are not wearing them.
Keep your glasses away from intense heat.

Is the oversized shape suitable for my face?

Oversized sunglasses make the proportions part of the look. A broad front can add width to a long face; rounded outlines soften angular features, while sharper edges add definition. Our selection for women and men includes both. For a lighter oversized effect, choose a finer rim or translucent acetate. Our sunglasses provide UV400 protection. Our opticians can advise you in store on prescription lenses.

Will oversized glasses make my face look too large or too small?

The same shape can look different depending on its width, lens height and rim thickness. A larger frame creates more presence; a fine rim or translucent acetate gives a lighter outline. Use the product-page dimensions to compare proportions. Our opticians can help with sizing and adjustment.

Are thicker, angular frames heavier, and will they feel comfortable all day?

A thick outline does not have to mean an evenly thick frame. We refine the acetate on the inside as well as around the edges, working on weight and balance while preserving the shape. The way the bridge and temples distribute that weight matters for comfort, and our team can adjust the fit in store.

Are blue-light lenses safe for daily wear, and will they change color tint?

Blue-light filtering lenses can be worn daily and combined with a prescription. Depending on the lens range, light tints may also be available. The tint and visible reflections vary by lens and treatment; our opticians can show you the options and confirm the combination for your prescription.

How long does it take to get prescription lenses made and fitted?

Single-vision lenses usually take 30 minutes to 3 days; progressive and office lenses usually take 7 to 10 days. Timing depends on your prescription, lens availability and the laboratory, and we confirm the estimate before you order.

Free eye exams are available in Canggu, Ubud and Sanur. Lens edging and fitting into the frame are carried out at our Canggu workshop.

What happens if my glasses get scratched or damaged, can you repair or replace parts?

Bring the frame to us or send clear photos. Depending on the damage, we can assess acetate polishing, a replacement temple, new lenses or reassembly. We will explain what is possible and any cost before proceeding.

Lifetime care for your Maison Mata glasses is free in store: screw and nose-pad replacement, acetate polishing and frame adjustments. Scratched lenses are replaced rather than polished.
